I'm surprised even Bhagwan (self-realized gyani) was following Dharma(righteousness) very religiously.
Krishna says in Bhagavad gita, one who follows the path of dharma will never be destroyed.
If nothing else we do in our life, atleast we should act as per our dharma irrespective of situations or people around us. Then this very existence will be caretaker for us.
